It is hard, grayish-brown, and has red and black inclusions. It covered the entire locus, with the possible exception of the south-east corner. There, q79 excavated an area of slightly softer material. This material was covered by f26 in this corner. f 35 ds This is a group of medium sized stones in the south-west corner of k1. It seems to be a little too crowded together to be accidental, but its purpose (if there is one) in currently unknown. f 36 ds This is ^ad below the topsoil in k13. It still seems to be regular sedimentation. .rd L705 f 37 ds This soil, in the south half of k11, is soft, brown, and has a large concentration of sherds. I think that it is the regular topsoil/sedimentation that we have been seeing up until this point, and therefore probably equals f28. f 38 ds This soil is very hard, grayish-brown, with a lot of red and black inclusions. It seems essentially the same as f30, and perhaps is f34 sloping down from k1. f 39 df ts ds This is the northern baulk of k1, overlooking A12 k6, i.e. area X. We are excavating here in order to find f41, the top of the pit a4, observed in the A12 section. i 17 sl north end slopes down 15 degrees in 0 degrees - flat or It is a completely round vessel - it has no orientation. f 41 1 fi 8574 106 .rd L704 i 15 39 1 95 fg 2.2 7.6 2.3 cl animal leg, maybe equid .rd L705 16 32 2 101 fg 3.6 1.5 2.3 cl forequarters and neck of animal ^fg 17 40 12 109 cv 4.5 5.0 cl cup q 101 pi 32 2 wf 8512 126 10 102 pb 40 12 west half of locus 8486 157 10 leveling 103 p 39 1 8566 69 10 still seems to be above ^f41 pit ^ac 104 p 39 1 8465 87 105 p 40 12 west half of locus 8486 157 10 same pick run as q102 106 p 40 12 east half of locus 8486 157 10 107 p 41 1 wf 8566 69 20 small ledge of material overhanging A12 k6 108 p 39 1 8550 74 10 109 pb 40 12 east half of locus 8486 157 10 same pick run as q106 110 pb 39 1 wf 8540 70 5 leveling with k1 floor 111 p 39 1 east section of feature m2602 76 73 20 40cm platform (remaining from north baulk) extending from east baulk 112 p 37 11 east half of feature 8548 152 10 113 p 37 11 east half of feature 8548 152 10 same pickrun as q112 114 pb 37 11 west half of feature 8548 152 10 115 pi 39 1 east section of feature m2602 56 73 20 same area as q111, but below it .rd L704 qi 99.1 kw piece of kiln waste 101.1 ca 1.8 4.0 3.5 cl flat piece of clay, 2 grooves 101.2 la 1.1 2.5 1.2 li piece of smoothed stone, triangular prism 115.1 ca 5.5 4.7 cl wheel, broken rim 115.2 la 5.7 11.0 9.2 li big stone, possibly worked
