Last season the entire block of lower A16 was k110 then it was split into two loci k111 and k112. This year to keep the pottery lots separate the entire block of former k110 was split into 6 new loci; k202, k203, k204, k205, k206, and k207. This view shows the locations of these new loci along with the splitting of the east section baulk into k208, and k209. The photograph also shows the first features in the area and f250, which was noticed at the end of last season. v 90 B11 View of the tannur f180 that was found last season MZ14. This tannur sits on reddish accumulation that was cut by the pit a17 (cut f189). The tannur is then covered by the pit a17, f280, f157 and the later khabur houses (a2) sitting on top of the pit. Below the tannur burial a18 is in view. This is the first photo of this burial since it was discovered while cleaning the area for this photograph. Here, jar i83 and the skull i84 are in view. The white line shows the boundary of k210, which was removed this year leaving k108 with a straight section. The stone pavement is also seen at the very bottom with the red of phase 4 f190 in view. v 92 B11 Series of small pits located while scraping the area during the first few days of excavations. The scraping was done to level out the area and also to notice any later pits, which may contaminate the material below. These pits are likely phase 5 or late phase 4 pits that cut into phase 4 material. f272 and f273 were extremely shallow pits. v 100A B11 closer view of A16 south section (previously A13 north section). Photograph shows the layers above the pavement, which are mostly accumulation and abandonment material such as the hollow f295 with the exception of f260. This feature has several courses of red bricks located some 5cm above the stone pavement. A similar "wall" was found in the east section f259.
