Stratigraphy

Phase 3p is a period of modification and strengthening across the whole JP area. In J2 this strengthening is related notably to the construction of the western flanking wall (^wall3). This wall was added to the western edge of the apron and abuts the revetment wall. It appears that a floor (f359) might have also been constructed at the same time as part of the rebuilding of the area. Erosion (^ersn1) dating to the previous phase suggests that the rebuilding was necessary to prevent damage.

Typology

Few ceramics were recovered from the floors associated with the rebuilding of this phase. Those sherds that were recovered show commonalities with both the EDIIIa and EDIIIb phases, suggesting this is a transitional phase (see notes by M. Kelly-Buccellati on f359).

The small finds from these floors do not appear to have any typological significance. They are primarily common lithic artifacts.
