Although it was found in a different context, it is similar to i500 in shape and form. It was covered with a patina, so it is not possible to determine if the spade end had a sharp edge. The cross-section of the shaft is rectangular, suggesting thatit may have been fitted into a wooden handle. There is no sign of splaying at the top of the shaft to suggest that it may have been driven with a hammer. It might have been used as a chisel, spoon, or scraper. | [Input File: R814jW.j] |
