i 500
ds A small copper alloy tool or implement with a relatively long shaft and a spade-like working surface.  Although it was covered with a patina, the spade end may have had a sharp edge.  The cross-section of the shaft is rectangular, suggesting that it may been fitted into a wooden handle.  There is no sign of splaying at the top of the shaft to suggest that it may have been driven with a hammer.  Possible uses include as a chisel, spoon, or scraper.

i 501
