Mizar transferred to A20 in exchange for Akram. Later, Akram transferred to A20 in exchange for Hamid Mahmood. Cleaned the horizontal surfaces above the baulks to prevent loose material from falling into the trench and injuring workmen. -dy finished excavating f346 in k110. Cleaned for an overall photograph, v172. Excavated the fill, f349 of pit a19, then began to remove fill, f346, from the western three-quarters of k13. One small region of f346, near the surface of f348, yielded four stone tools and an impression of a stamp seal, i27. Began to remove f50 from the sloping surface of k12 by scraping with trowels. v 172 ph Took multiple photoraphs for this view, including an overall shot to the west encompassing the entire unit, with detailed shots of the interface between f346 and f348 at the west edge of k110. We also photographed the east baulk. gB viewed out-takes from the views and suggested that we re-take it such that the reddishness of the material in f348 is more emphasized. We will try again on U916 to re-take it now that more of f348 has been exposed in k13. -sy pC re-established the excavation limits of k13, with surveyed relay points. In two days of excavation, the pit yielded sherds identified as LC3, a broken grindstone, and a flint blade. The function could not be determined from the cultural material within. f 349 ;df fi ;tc si f350 ds The fill of a pit, a19, which is approximately 1 meter in diameter. It was at least partly covered by the baqaya surface of f109, but not enough to guarantee a seal for the contents. In two days of excavation, the pit yielded sherds identified as LC3, a broken grindstone, and a flint blade. f 350 ;df pt-c ;tc in f346 ;tc in f351 ds The cut of pit a19. It was on the border between k13 and k12 and penetrated both fill, f346, and the glacis, f351. f 351 df fi ds This feature in k12 consists of fill beneath a hard-crusted, steeply sloping surface descending from north to south. It has sections of mudbrick laid in gray mortar. The organization of the bricks is irregular and at first jW believed it to be brickfall from wall, f348. However it extends west past the apparent west face of f348 and appears uniform in slope in the four meter section that we see in k12. f 368 ;tc co f351 f 353 ;df rh ds a very thin layer of dark soil in the middle of the north baulk line. It was about 1 meter in diameter with an arc into k13. It contained no cultural material. Upon closer inspection, it was determined to be the remains of a small colony of burrowing animals. ;tc in f352
