.bk J05 .fl S726lH.j .fd journal for S726 .ei lH .ed S726 .rd S726 .ri lH -wk fourteen assigned workmen reported. -dy Today we excavated in loci k33, k43, k34. Also we started to remove the northern baulk of k22, so we can get a comparative view for the stratigraphical sequence in J1 and J5. In addition we would be able to follow the line of the western part of the revetment wall, f3. k 34 dy We focused on excavating the southern part, to keep the natural floor, f45, in the northern half for the moment. After removing the rest of the last mentioned feature in the southern half of this locus, we found a new feature that formed by lamination, f63. The collected pottery was various (dotted decoration, red slip, imitation metal ware..). k 33 dy We continued removing the natural accumulation, f59, which was soft and chunky. At midday we moved the workmen from this locus to remove the northern baulk of k22. k 43 dy We started excavating its topsoil, f56, which looks chunky and soft. In the topsoil we found a distinctive pottery sherd, that is decorated with unclear shapes that might be part of scorpion or snake, q83. k 44 dy We didn`t excavate it today, but we tested the sections below the stone installations, f28, and f49. We found out that: the eastern section below f28 consists of two different accumulations, the first higher one, f47, looks soft and powdery, the underneath one, f61, looks very compact. As to f49, the eastern section shows that it is made of two sets of stones, one atop the other. The western section indicates that the stones, f49, are on one layer under which is a compact soil feature, f61, that is disturbed by rodents. k 22 dy we started to remove the northern baulk of this locus, so we can get a comparative view for the stratigraphical sequence in J1 and J5, beside that we can follow the line of the revetment wall in its western part after we remove this baulk. f 63 ds A very compact lamination, with irregular surface. Its texture consists of sandy clay that is full of nodules, pottery sherds and pebbles. Traces of melted red mud brick was found in this feature. So we started to remove it with the big pick.
