description: A small bowl which may have been used as a cup of the Fine Buff Ware Group; the vessel is wheel made, medium to high fired and has a trace of secondary burning on the exterior.
The nowl is an example of Sub-group 1 of Simple ware. This is indicated by the fact that it has no visible temper, carefully smoothed on the interior and exterior which has left the exterior slightly shining. The color is greener than the usual Simple ware from this period.
Since this small bowl was found in the temple BA near the small sculpture of a lion (B1.164). Ceramics of a similar type of pottery were also found in other excavation units (K1, and S1) and in the ābi, possibly indicating that this sub-type was connected with ritual activities.
