The twilight of Urkesh

     Excavations in the actual Palace levels have been postponed until we have first exposed, and then removed, the levels above it. Here we see the topmost, and latest, of these levels, those that date to about 1300 B.C., just before the complete abandonment of the site. It is truly the twilight of the gods of Urkesh.
