A6 is regarded as one of the most significant excavation units at Tell Mozan, distinguished by its large extent in comparison with other excavation areas. It was active throughout most occupation phases, spanning from the third to the second millennium BC. Its functional importance is reflected in the presence, from north to south, of the royal palace kitchen, the control room, and the bathroom, underscoring its central role within the royal complex. Moreover, this unit constitutes an important chronological reference for the site, due to the several architectural installations uncovered within it and the diversity of associated archaeological artifacts and finds, which have contributed to establishing the chronological sequence of occupation phases at Tell Mozan.
