Another wall(f362) has been exposed below the southern wing of f192. Removal of accumulation in the eastern part of locus revealed an andiron(f279); [no functional association between the two features is indicated at this point]. 03 For more on the burial(a11) and the surrounding deposition see v63a-d and v64a-c. f 279 ds This andiron, which was described as a "tannur below grave" in MZ10, lies on the east side of f372. The diameter at the top of the rim is 32 cm. The opening, about 10 cm wide, is below the basin on the east side. .rd j620 f 372 df w =l f224 =l f307 nl In MZ10 the brick structure labelled f224 was first described as an addition to burial(a11). Further excavation revealed it to be a wall below the burial, at which time it was given a new feature number, f307. To quote from the ds of f307 in the MZ10 book: "The wall(f307) runs north-south below the eastern end of the grave; 25 cm past the southern wall of the grave, the wall forms a right angle and continues to the east. It was this exposed portion south of the grave which was designated as f224, a brick addition to a11. 10 cm of accumulation separate the bottom courses of the grave structure (f192) from the top of the wall." At the beginning of MZ12 failure to consult the MZ10 book resulted in the wall receiving yet another feature number, f372. One correction to the previous season's book was made, however, by the assignment of a separate feature number, f375, to the adjoining east-west wall. G1 a27 vt See v64a-b and v65a from MZ10 for views of the wall running below and south of the burial. f 369 df a ds nl A new feature number dy Pickmen removing the ashy accumulation,f366, in the SE corner of locus detected possible bricks. So far no identifiable pattern emerges, though they may prove to be part of a wall or, perhaps, brickfall, but we will continue to remove the ashy/brick accumulation, to which we've given a new feature number. f 370 ds Accumulation just below topsoil; it is noteworthy for its high concentration of Habur ware sherds.
