Originally, we presume that it was used for storage, and later became a trash dump. It cut into the brick and stone platforms below it, f59, f60, f77, and f78. f 77 ds This is the second stone platform, which is not currently visible in A14. We presume its existence as an extension of the stone platform in A12k6, which is of higher elevation than f60 and therefore must be later. It possibly included the drain f56 in its construction, which was then reused with f78. f 78 ds This is the brick platform on top of f77. Like f77, it is not actually present in A14, since it was cut by the pit a4. However, we infer its existence from the brick platform in A12k6, and presume that it extended at least part of the way into A14. It is possible that the drain f56 was either constructed as a part of this platform or that it was constructed for f77, but reused with the brick platform. i 22 df ca ds large, rough ring of clay co orange wm cl w1 5.4 th 2.1 P2 ZSB7-20 i 25 df se ds uncarved stone cylinder seal, pierced lg 3.2 w1 1.9 co white wm li P2 ZSB16-21 i 24 df fg ds figurine head, neck, and forequarters, badly worn lg 4.4 ht 5.7 w1 3.0 co white c# 2.5Y8/1 wm cl P99 to rah i 13 df sp ds pieces of shell co mother-of-pearl P2 ZSB26-3 i 8 df ma ds possibly encrusted metal pin lg 3.9 w1 0.2 wm mt P99 to sb q 213.1 df ca ds fragment of clay with round impression on one side co orange wm cl lg 2.8 w1 2.7 th 0.4 P2 ZSB7-20 q 216.1 df la ds fragment of a stone mortar/grinding stone lg 15.5 w1 4.0 ht 9.5 co gray wm li P2 ZSB105-4 q 222.1 df ca ds half of a clay ring, rough lg 5.9 w1 4.2 th 1.4 co dark orange wm cl P2 ZSB7-20 q 228.1 df fg ds head and neck of a figurine ht 4.2 lg 2.3 w1 2.0 co brown c# 7.5YR5/4 wm cl P99 to rah i 14 df tooth ds tooth found in bowl P2 ZSB15-5 q 210.1 df bd ds perforated bead co blue wm li lg 0.8 w1 0.8 P2 ZSB12-9 .rd L706 f 39 df ts ds topsoil covering pit f41 in k1 north baulk. Also seems to include some of f34, but it is too eroded and dirty (i.e. full of pottery) to isolate it for certain. f 41 ds fi ds This is the top layer of the fill in the north baulk of k1, i.e. the pit in the south baulk of A12k6, i.e. a4. Theoretically, the bottom of this pit will be directly on top of the stone platform in A12k6. f 39 nd Some of the q-lots for this feature were described as being located in the "east platform of the north baulk" or the "platform extending from the east baulk." This refers to the fact that we were originally going to dig only the section of the k1 north baulk covering the pit a4. However, when we realized that the top of the pit was very low, we decided to remove the entire north baulk. So, this area is the section of the north baulk east of the pit, to the corner of the north and east baulks. There will also be a similar abbreviation for the north-west platform of the baulk.
