The head and neck are modeled first with the nose and chin pinched from this clay. Next the head covering clay pieces were attached to the head. Lastly the head was painted. is long narrow neck which flares slightly at the base so probably attached to a torso, face with pointed chin, line of cheeks and nose; no mouth indicated but in the position of the mouth is a short black thick line of paint indicating a moustache, large irregular rectangles of paint indicate he eyes, the head covering is made with several strips of clay which cover only the front part of the head, the strip of clay immediately covering the head extends down behind the place of his left ear, a second strip on top of the first protrudes slightly as it extends across the head. Two other shorter strips of clay have been added down the side of the face covering the area of the ears. All of these strips were painted in the front but not the back. The reverse of the head has a piece of clay extending slightly in a v-shaped pattern; it is not clear if this is meant to indicate hair.
