-dy found the bottom of the wall, the goal of the season, after excavating only a few cm this morning. There seems to be no foundation trench but only a soft glacis. We will cease excavating in this locus and excavate one meter to the west.

dy found the bottom of the wall, f72 after excavating only a few cm this morning. The bottom elevation is 8675. We finished f195 which was the ashy layer and declared f196 which was a clean brown layer. After reaching the bottom of the wall, we see in section that this brown layer is most likely the glacis at the base of the wall. The ash is the occupation layer above it. mKB has dated the pottery from both f195 and f196 as h1-JPA.
