-dy limited activity in the field today. lC is there alone. mKB has examined more of the pottery from this pebble surface and has determined it is Mitanni rather than stricly Khabur. We do not yet have a strictly Khabur feature or deposition.

dy per gB's suggestion we are removing the sherds and bones from f238 prior to backfilling for the season. This area will be excavated next season so we are removing them to keep the from being damaged over the winter.

dy we are removing the top layer of soil that has accumulated over last winter to get a good final view of the escarpment along the wall. We will also backfill well here to prevent undercutting over the winter.

dy we are finishing the staircase going down to the first step. We will then cut the baulk to the north and use the dirt as backfill in k117.
