Just few installations found at a very high elevation or below topsoil. Possibly modern or Middle Assyrian. s 70-J1A ds Middle Assyrian. The temple mound complex continues to be covered with wind-blown soil. Some scattered structures found on top of the ancient tell surface. Probably Middle Assyrian. s 120-J1A ds Late Mittani. Thick natural wind born accumulations (^acc3) covering the old Plaza. The Revetment wall was no more visible. Period of abandonment. s 122-J1A ds Late Mittani. The very last moment of memory of the Temple Mound and of the Revetment wall the edge of which seems to be marked by some memory stones. s 130-J1A ds Late (?) Mittani. Construction of the Second Apron? in J2/J3 and blocking of the staircase. J1 natural compact accumulation covering the top part of the Revetment wall, no traces of any kind of activity in the old Plaza. s 146-J1A ds Middle Mittani. Semi-natural accumulations (^acc2) against the upper part of the ED III revetment wall, made of sherds, stones, pebbles with an high level of compactness, probably due to a still strong human traffic in the Plaza. The Plaza filled up very quickly, probably because of a less care of the structure around it, during a period of deep changes. The focus shifted from East to West with the construction of the new Staircase in J5. s 148-J1A ds Middle Mittani.?? Part of Mittani western staircase? s 174-J1A ds Early Mittani. Last moment of the Early Mittani occupation and use of this area (Plaza and base of the wall). Natural accumulations (^acc1) against the lower part of the ED III Revetment wall. Very soft and brown wind born accumulations with some more compact layers. The Plaza wasn't probably any more in use. No traces of activities or pavements, just some compacted levels probably due to human traffic. s 176-J1A ds Early Mittani. Second level of pavement (f232) and large curtain wall (^curt2) showing a still care and use ot the area at the base of the Revetment wall and a possible attempt to protect its base from water erosion, using a shallow wall. This is the last moment of real use of the plaza. s 178-J1A ds Early Mittani. Short period of abandonment constituted of brown soft natural accumulations in between two different levels of pavement (^pav1 and ^pav2). s 180-J1A ds Early Mittani. Attempt to protect the wall and the plaza through the construction of a sort of water barrier (f328) sitting on top of the first Mittani pavement (^pav2). s 190-J1A ds Early Mittani. First occupation and use of the Plaza area during Mittani time. A very extended and compact pavement (^pav2) with a first curtain wall (^curt1) and some installations (heart). s 192-J1A ds Possibly few thin accumulations found below the Mittani pavement f238 showing a moment slightly earlier. Pottery Mixed with Ninevite 5 so date not completly certain. s 610-J1A ds Late EDIII. Erosion (f379) of the surface of the second Escarpment that shows a very irregular surface characterized by sharp steps and sloping surfaces. This erosion shows that the problem of the water coming from the West was still strong at the end of EDIII period. Probably removed the use of the escarpment, not EDIII floor nor pavement have been found. s 620-J1A ds Late EDIII. Construction and use of pebble pavement (^pav2)in the Plaza, associated with the Second Escarpment. s 630-J1A ds Late EDIII. Cut damaged first Escarpment to rebuild the large late Escarpment (^esc2) at the base of the Revetment wall in order to protect the base of the wall from the strong problem of the water erosion coming from the west. s 640a-J1A ds Mid EDIII. Natural ashy accumulations and deposits, probably showing a short period of abandonment or less care regarding the area of the Temple Terrace and the base of the Wall. s 640b-J1A ds Mid EDIII. Quick erosion (f378) of the surface of the first escarpment. s 650-J1A ds Early EDIII. This stratum includes several short moments belonging to the same wide episode: the construction of the EDIII terrace complex. Construction of the Revetment wall (^wall1) with level associated amd perhaps a collapse (f336) of previous structure (a8), then construction of the Escarpment (^esc1). s 651-J1A ds Early EDIII. Cut of the Late Chalcolithic mound for the construction of the Revetment Wall and the First Escarpment. s 708-J1A ds Ninevite 5. Accumulations to the West of Late Chalcolithic structure linked to the use of the structure itself or coming from later washed material. Unfortunatly uncovered just in a small area. s 710-J1A ds Ninevite 5. Damage to LC structure, probably because of water flowing. Filled by later Ninevite 5 materials s 711-J1A ds Ninevite 5. Accumulations and floors linked with the use of the Late Chalcolithic structure, part of wich removed by the later cut to build the EDIII Revetment wall and Escarpment. s 850-J1A ds Late Chalcolithic 3. Contruction of LC3 structure, wich function in not clearly identified, possibly part of an early terrace complex or somithing different (see a8). The use of this structure has been found just in a small sounding and more excavation is required (f350 and f355). s 870-J1A ds Late Chalcolithic 3. Few features belonging to a moment earlier than the construction of the Late Chalcolithic stone structure (a8). Not excavated, so no functional hypothesis or interpretation possible.
