Description/Count
Description 2008-3-7pC k2 is a 5x5 meters regular locus. A german trench cuts three quarter of it. At the beginning of the excavation was left only a pseudo baulk in the eastern part, the upper part of the apron f131 takes all the locus. It is defined by the relay r25, r26 and markers m3589, m3597

Recovery/Assignment and the Record
Daily 2004-7-14aP we employed the team which worked in k33 to remove the southern part and the southern baulk of k2. The soil is quite soft which grass and roots, quite easy to remove. The goal is to expose and clean all the stones came out during the German excavations understanding if the stones belong to a wall and its alignment.
2004-7-15aP we are continuing to remove the baulk. After two hours we moved the team from k2 to the machine in the trench so the work is going quite low ( f64, q161, q167).
2004-7-18aP we are going down with the trench cleaning the stones which are coming out ( f64: q174, q178, q182). Cleaning the "column" below an eroded stone we found some red bricky soil and maybe two bricks one red and one grey. However since we found them at the end of the day, we'll check better tomorrow if they are really bricks.
2004-7-19aP we start to remove the eastern baulk leaving about 20 cm in the eastern part. The feature ( f69) is composed by mixed soil with reddish colour, quite compact and with a granular consistency. It seems the reddish material which is typical of the terrace of the temple. We dug the following q-lots: q190, q199.
2004-7-20aP since Minna and I were busy cleaning stones, vVE and jE came to draw the eastern section of k2. In this square, cleaning the bottom of the trench, we reached a very reddish layer ( f74, q203). The material seems to be the same packing which characterized also the palace area with white organic inclusions which at a first sight seemed to be plaster and which have the same consistency of calcite. We scraped the surface and stopped with excavations. So we decided to start to remove the baulk with two teams of workmen. The eastern bulk is f78 but we made different q-lots for the northern part ( f78, q210) and the southern part ( f78, q211).
