Part of it is in the eastern section. It sits in f67 and it intrudes f73. The upper circular part is well preserved as are the walls. Because our goal was to reach the elevation of the wall f129 as soon as possible, we did not differentiate the floor on which the tannnur, sits but just the general feature connected with it. The top elevation is m3824 + 129 - 152. f 73 df fi ds This feature is the fill of tannur f72 in k84. Inside the tannur we found just one bone and a small amount of pottery sherds. The fill includes little bit of ash. The soil soft and brownish. The top elevation is the same as the tannur's: m3824 + 129 -152. .rd O720 f 74 df ly ds Reddish layer at the bottom of the trench in k2. This material is the same kind of packing that characterizes all structures dating to the 3rd millennium BCE. It's called "bakkaya" and we have found it also in connection with the temple and the palace. It was carried here intentionally and used as filling. Presence of white material which at a first sight seems plaster but it's actually organic material. The top elevation is m3647 + 46 - 141; the bottom is m3687 + 20 - 164. As we reached this level we stopped the excavation of the unit. f 75 ;df ly ds This layer is the eastern baulk of k75. The top elevation is m3790 + 0 - 13. f 76 df ly ds This feature is the layer below the so called "Mittanic" level in k14. It's a horizontal layer that includes pebbles and small and medium-sized stones, which sit in it. f76 is overlaid by f15, f26, and f17. Its consistency is rather similar to f15,which, however, does not contain stones or pebbles. The top elevation is m3599 + 36 - 136; the bottom elevation is m3880 + 63 - 164. f 77 ;df ly ds This layer is the northern baulk of k84. The top elevation is m3822 + 0 - 13; the bottom is m3825 + 112 - 52. f77 covers f96. f 78 df ly ds f78 = f69. This feature is the eastern baulk of k2. It's composed of quite granular and rather soft reddish material. The top elevation is m3679 + 0 -13; the bottom is m3687 + 120 - 164. f68=f78. A tannur (f85) with its fill (f86) sits in it. f 79 ;df ly ds This layer is the eastern baulk of k4 and k5. In principle it belongs to k4 but in practice it's the eastern side of the eastern baulk of k4 and k5, or, rather, the western side of the German trench k100. We dug this area as a baulk without differentiating the different layers except when the change was very evident (f110). The top elevation is m3614 + 0 -13; the bottom is m3907 + 3 - 164. .rd O721 f 80 ad ly ds This feature is the layer below f31. It's located in the south-eastern part of the unit, below the eroded stones. The top elevation is m3725 + 82 - 171; the bottom is m3810 + 74 - 131. f80 is overlaid by f31 and it overlays f83. f 81 ad ly ds This layer is below the Mittanic "floor" (f26) in k4. After we decided to remove the pebbles (f28 and f27), we reached this layer with similar soil but just without stones. f81 has almost the same characteristics as features f82 and f76 (all below the Mittanic horizontal alignment). The top elevation is m3599 + 36 - 136. f 82 ad ly ds This layer is below the Mittanic "floor" (f16) in k5. After we decided to remove the pebbles (f14 and f24), we reached this layer with similar soil but just without stones without stones. f82 has almost the same characteristics as features f81 and f76 (all below the Mittanic horizontal alignment). The top elevation is m3599 + 36 - 136. f 83 df ld ds This feature is a very compact and hard lens in the western part of k13. It consists in small pebbles and the texture seems very similar to the soil found in J1 (MZ16). The top elevation is m3810 + 74 - 131; the bottom is m3810 + 47 - 131. The surface occupied by this layer is quite irregular and not very large. f 84 df st ds This feature consists of a large number of stones (40) which sit in f64. We choose to assign this feature to k2 arbitrary although the stones are extend also into k12. Before removing the stones we created sub-components for this feature so that every stone has its own number. f 85 df ta ds This feature is a tannur which is located on the eastern baulk of k2 (f69=f78). We discovered it when we were removing the baulk. We decided to take a picture of it and to remove it as soon as possible. It was quite well preserved. The top elevation is m3822 + 8 - 131. f 86 df fi ds This feature is the fill of the tannur (f85) in k2. pr Because our goal was to reach the lower levels as soon as possible, we did not collect the material found in the tannur as separate items. After taking the top elevation (m3822 + 8 - 131) we removed the tannur with a big pick although this action might not have been archeologically correct. f 87 ;df ly ds This feature consists of mixed material, quite hard and compact, which is present in the whole surface of the unit. f87 is overlaid by f83 which is a very hard and compact lens. The top elevation is m3810 + 47 -131; the bottom is m3810 + 31 -145. f 88 ;df ly ds This feature is the eastern baulk of k93. The top elevation is m3670 + 0 -13. f 89 ad ly df w ds This feature is a small part of a mud-brick wall. It is located between the first and the second apron (f131 and f132) in the gap of about 1 m in width. We noticed the presence of a few rows of mud-bricks while cleaning the column of soil below the stone f84.24. As we scraped the surface towards south from the stone we found some gray bricks in place with remains of the reddish between them. .rd 0724 f 90 df ld ds This feature includes the soil columns below the eroded stones in k3. In practice it is equal to f32 but we decided to distinguish the material coming from the columns on which the stones stand. f 91 df ly ds This feature includes the soil columns below the eroded stones in k13. In practice is equal to f90 in k3, but we decided to distinguish the material coming from the columns on which the stones stand. .rd S615 .ri pC f 89 ;df bk ds bricks under the second apron, possibly part of the coating surface of the temple mound before the building of the second apron f132: several other bricks were found in J3 above the layer of the 2nd millenium glacis (mittani): this let me hypotize that these bricks belong to the brick surface dated to the Third millenium and found in the german excavation. The elevation of these bricks is at 91.75 (from relay r854, the closest stone of the apron f131 to f89)
