Its surface exhibits a southward slope, likely intended to channel water away from the wall’s base. The deposits sealing this layer date to the Early Dynastic III period. Although this feature was not excavated, its characteristics closely parallel those of the escarpment exposed in Unit J1, which was excavated; thus, it can reasonably be interpreted as representing the same architectural element. It remains uncertain, however, whether this corresponds to the first or the second escarpment. Small pebbles and ceramic sherds are embedded within the surface, although their distribution is uneven. Approximately 1.5 m south of the last step, the concentration of pebbles increases noticeably. Directly above the step, the pavement is 10–20 cm thick, has a reddish coloration, and contains fewer pebbles and sherds. It is characterized by having a gray coloration, small pebble and gypsum inclusions. It abuts the "patch stone" between stair f130 and apron f131. f179 was the bottom of the german trench, covering f194 which is dated to the EDIII period. f392 was recorded in section.
