2005-8-08 jW Placed elevator into k101 in preparation for use tomorrow after wiring completed in afternoon. [Input File: P808jW.j]
2005-8-08 jW Elevator operational. Allowed substantial increase in efficiency, increasing speed of excavation by 50% from accumulations more than 2 meters below the surface. Used 2 picks and 4 removal, with backdirt loaded directly onto trailers by the elevator. [Input File: P809jW.j]
2005-8-11 jW At the suggestion of mO, rigged a pipe to carry dirt from k12 to mouth of the elevator and thence directly to a trailer for removal from the site. Overall efficiency much improved as compared to lifting the dirt by bucket to wheelbarrows which carry it to a dump which must be periodically shoveled into the removal trailer. [Input File: P811jW.j]
2005-8-11 jW Elevator continued to work well, moving large quantities of dirt without mechanical problems. Workmen have organized an efficient system for shoveling, retrieving pottery and clearing the input scoop. [Input File: P813jW.j]
2005-8-10 jW Elevator operational. However, it stopped in mid-morning and was repaired after breakfast by Anwar. At his suggestion we began passing dirt down from k12 in addition to using it to remove dirt from k101, where it is situated. [Input File: P810jW2.j]
2005-8-17 jW Re-installed elevator in k12. At the direction of mKB, stopped the use of the sifter to retrieve objects from the backdirt from the excavation of the typological column at the end of the day. [Input File: P817jW.j]
2005-8-18 jW Removed the dirt elevator from k12 so that we could excavate the entirety of accumulation, f38, overlaying bakhia terrace, f50. No impact on overall removal because we were doing fine work in the entire unit which produced little back dirt. [Input File: P818jW1.j]
2005-8-22 jW In excavating topsoil in k103, a pickman accidentally cut the unmarked, buried power cable for the elevators. No one was injured and the cable was quickly spliced back into operation. [Input File: P822jW.j]
2005-8-28 jW Installed elevator to remove dirt from k104. [Input File: P828jW.j]
2005-8-25 jW Re-installed the elevator in k12 to lift the dirt removed from the locus of the probe behind the wall, k104. In order to protect the bakhia surface of the terrace, f50, we covered it with a cotton cloth and founded the scoop on several burlap bags filled with dirt. [Input File: P825jW.j]
2005-9-07 jW In the afternoon, a crane was on scene to safely remove a large number of floating stones which we had temporarily stored in the SW corner of k101. [Input File: P907jW.j]
2005-9-05 jW After a false start occasioned by a lack of fuel for the compressor, the jackhammer was used effectively in k103 for much of the day to excavate the hard, dense accumulation, f63, and the concrete-like accumulation, f76, below. [Input File: P905jW.j]
2006-9-10 jW The elevator was finally re-installed and it speeded removal perceptably. However, it clogged and stopped at the end of the day. [Input File: Q910jW1.j]
2006-9-12 jW The elevator ran perfectly all day. [Input File: Q912jW.j]
2006-9-03 rE We put the Elevatore on the south sid of k101, bacause it is too deep there and we need to remove the two baulk on both side of k101 faster. fAB suggested to give the q-items which we will found on the Elevatore q-900. [Input File: Q903rE.J]
2006-9-11 jW Elevator worked well throughout the day, but a lack of trailers to haul dirt caused some delays in removal. [Input File: Q911jW1.j]
2006-9-14 jW Elevator stalled when the bottom pivot shaft broke. It was replaced in about half an hour and the elevator operated flawlessly thereafter. [Input File: Q914jW.j]
