| description (summary) | 2005-8-24 | rE | A successive series of laminations under accumulation, f53, throughout k12. It was probably built up when rainwater and loess accumulated on the large, flat, plaza surface to the south of the BA temple mound, then dried. When struck by the pick it comes off in large blocks, which are easily broken with a shovel. | notes on recovery | 2005-8-29 | jW | At the end of yesterday and today, the laminations became thinner more tightly packed together. In section they appear as a solid block with no pockets of softer material. Pottery continues to be relatively sparse, with less than a full bag collected each day for a volume which approaches two cubic meters.
