-wk Three picks and 5 in support reported for work.  One pick deployed in k101, and two deployed in k102.  Pickmen attended a short meeting at the beginning of work.  gB presented a general lecture on the scope of the planned excavations to all workmen from 1230 to 1315.

-sf Students Zusan and Ismail, deployed in k102 under the supervision of Muhammad Kher to explore for the south face of wall, f11.  rE worked at home after breakfast to prepare for an examination in Damascus on August 28.

-eq Re-installed elevator in k12.  At the direction of mKB, stopped the use of the sifter to retrieve objects from the backdirt from the excavation of the typological column at the end of the day.

dy In removing accumulation, f38, Swar encountered a large surface of hard-packed bakhia, a local virgin soil which is red with white inclusions.  Designated f50, preliminary analysis indicates that it may be the surface of a monumantal terrace that led upward from the boundary wall, f11, to the BA Early Dynastic IIIb temple.
