No unit work was undertaken. k 104 nt During visits by the directors of excavations of Tell Beidar and Tell Hammukar, they mentioned that the pottery from a number of features in the typological column was earlier than we had previously believed. In particular they opined that the bulk of the sherds found were from the Late Chalcolithic III period. These were mixed with a few Ninevite V and Early Dynastic III sherds. The implication of this is that the fill behind the wall was taken from a place on or near the tell that was occupied much earlier than the temple mound. mKB will prepare a detailed analysis for the Global Record.
