.bk J05 .fl S728lH.j .fd daily journal for S728 .rd S728 .ri lH .ed S728 .ei lH -wk Fourteen assigned workmen reported. k 44 dy We started our day with photographing the features of k44, v35 and v36, to study the foundations of the stone installation. k 24 dy We discovered that three layers abut the stones of f14. The natural accumuation, f52, is the highest layer that abuts the stones of f14. We temporarily left a portion in the northeastern corner, so that we could photograph it and the two new features that appears under it, f65 and f66. The first feature, f65, is a highly compact floor that is full of pebbles and pottery sherds, with a flat surface. It extends from the northeastern corner of this locus to about 130 cm to the east. The second feature, f66, covers f65. It is a compact natural accumulation, with irregular surface. After cleaning the locus with its new features, we photographed them, v37. Then we removed the rest of f52 in the southeastern corner to find that f66 continues its extention under the natural accumulation of f52. k 22 dy We removed the northern baulk of this locus. After careful cleaning we found that the compacted floor, f39, extens throghout the southern half of k23 and contiues to the south edge of the north baulk of k22. k 34 dy We photographed this locus in v39, to show the sequnce of its features, the floor, f45, in the northern half of it, and the laminated natural accumulation, f63, in the southern half. Then we drew and photographed the section of the eastern baulk, w4 and v38. We did the same for the section of the northern baulk, w5 and v40. We drew and photographed The sections in order to remove the eastern baulk of this locus, which we started with after the breakfast. -sy During the removal of the eastern baulk of k34, we removed the marker in the middle of its western section, m4790. f 65 ds A highly compact floor, full of pebbles and pottery sherds, with a flat surface in the northwestern corner of k24. It extents from the northwestern corner of this locus to about 130 cm to the east. It abuts the stones of f14. f 66 ds A compact natural accumulation along the northern edge of k24. It extends from the excavated eastern limit of the compact floor, f65, until the northeastern corner of k24. Its surface is irregular. We noticed that it`s free of pottery sherds, pebbles or inclusions. It abuts the stones of f14. -sg Tomorrow we will continue removing the eastern baulk of k34. When we finish we will begin to remove the accumulation which covers the next lower steps of the stone staircase in the southern half of k34. In k23, after photographing the floor, f39, against the eastern section of J1, we will continue to excavate to find the northern part of wall, f3. We will also continue excavating in k43 to find if the stone installation, f49, continues to the south.
