-dy Today in the early morning we cleaned J7 and the cement stairs leading down to J1 in anticipation of visitors. I was not in the field from 7 until after breakfast because I was with the visitors. The staff of J6 was monitoring the work. After breakfast we continued removing the East baulk of k2. Another large stone was uncovered in the baulk near f25, it was labelled f38. There were no tractors for the dirt removal today so the dirt from the shaffats had to be removed with wheelbarrows. We had only enough workmen today to operate one shaffat with the wheelbarrows. 
-wk Today there were 9 workmen in J7. 
-sy Before breakfast hB came and reestablished the baulks in J7 with control points. We will not use corner stakes because the squares are irregular.

ds Large stone in the East baulk of k2. It just north of f25, another large stone. Appears to be associated with f4, f25, f29, f37, f35 and f36 which are also large stones in the east baulks. It is also in line with stones in the excavations of area C2, which was excavated by the German team (see v22)

k 200
ds This locus was assigned to the large trench cut by the German team led by Peter Pfalzner. It extends from the large open area in the south that was excavated by the German team and extends to the bottom of the staircase in J1. This area has been assigned a new locus number in J7 so it can be easily referred to in the Global Record. There will be no actual excavation in this area by the J7 team. This area is also referred to as k200 by in J6. 
-eq There is a large crane in k200 that removes dirt by hauling up large zambils which are dumped into wheelbarrows. This crane is operated by a separate team. Most of the dirt removed via crane is from J6, however, the crane is useful for removing any dirt that falls from the broken sections of J7 bordering k200. In k200 there is also a large shaffat. A chute from k3 takes the dirt down to k200 where it is taken back up again in the shaffat. Pottery is collected by the shaffat operator at the bottom and reunited with its originating q-lot.
