-mk bP and jW on site to measure distances for obtaining coordinates for markers.  Also measured in NE, NW and SW corners of k1.  Also measured distances to extant square corners.  SW to NW is 400 cm, NW to NE is 398 cm, and SW to NE is 565 cm.

ds wedge of soil appearing in the W and S baulks layered between plowed soil (f3) and accumulation (f4).  Stratigraphically it intrudes into what should logically be f4.  It has more of the color of f4 and more of the texture of f3.  this supports gB's conclusion that f12 was formed when a sufficient number of rodent burrows weakened f4, causing its collapse.  Soil from f3 then intruded into f4 to wind up below the plowline, mixed with f3.
