Introduction

Since the excavated areas of OH2 revealed open air areas with no standing structures it was not necessary to undertake any preservation of that type. The excavation was intended as a test for archaeological remains before the local landowner built a well. The finds of the seal impressions suggested the area contained rich archaeological materials and thus the well was not built. This type of non-development is a form of conservation.

Backfilling

To protect the area and allow it to be reclaimed as agricultural land, the excavations were backfilled after the final recording was completed.
