After we took the relays for most of them but for four were not possible since the positions of the item didn't allow to take points. So we need to put some new markers after removing baulks. k 5 dy re finished to remove the eastern part of the northern baulk of k5 (f44, q104). k 13 dy we decided to go down in the eastern part of the square which is cut from north to south by the German trench (f31, q103). The goal for today was to reach the level of the western part of the square. We draw the eastern section of k13 which below the top soil presents two very homogeneous features. k 33 dy we started excavating the north-western (f42, q102) and after we continued with the whole surface of the square (f49, q108) except f46. After we decided to remove f46 (f46, q106) which was interpreted as part of the tell of the surface, quite hard and with stones of small-medium size. Scraping, cleaning and removing the material (f46, q112) we noticed the stones go down but the surface occupied by them is smaller going deeper. So for the moment we can suppose that it could be a kind of pit filled by stones and fragments of basalt grinding stones (q112.1; q112.2; q112.3; q112.4; q112.5). At the end of the morning we asked to gB about the possible nature of the stone accumulation and he made the hypothesis of a tomb. k 43 dy we started excavating this new square removing for the moment the top soil from all the surface (f53, q113). The soil is hard and with a dark brown colour. Presence of grass and roots. k 82 dy we continued to go down in this square (f38, q100) with the goal of reaching the same level of k92. We stopped after 15 cm. In this square we cleaned also the north-eastern corner where there were some rests of the German section which cuts the square from east to west. From this part we had just soil without pottery and so I decided not to give a new q-number. k 83 dy we started to excavate this new squares removing for the moment the top soil (f50, q109). k 93 dy the goal for this square is following the lines of the stairs. Since now the soil is between the stone we decide to create a new feature ( f47, q101 and q105). The material between the stones has the same colour and the same consistency of that of f37 but since now we found it between the stones we decided to separate the features. On the northern part of k93, below the first step, we noticed a different kind of soil (f48, q107). It's composed by crushed bricks and it's very granular and more reddish. Scraping the surface we found probable traces of whitish plaster and we took a sample for this material ( q107.1). Contemporary we decided to distinguish the southern part of k93 which soil seems softer (f51, q110).
