-sg we decided to concentrate the effort of our workmen in some specific areas. By the way Ahmed, Fuwas and Khaled are working in k4; Anwar, Juan, Adil and Ahmed the tall in k84/k85; Safwan, Amer, Massud and Majid in k83 while Shalal is going on removing the trench in k4/k5. In k4 we decided to dig not all the square but just 3 meters from the northern section to reach as soon as possible the same level of k3 and to have a nice view of the wall and the apron from south. In k13 we noticed the existence of the wall so now the goal is showing as much surface is possible, numbering and then removing the eroded stones. We consider finished the work in k3.

-wk  one of the wooden poles hit the head of Anwar. He went to the hospital.

-sy we took away the following markers: m3603, m3679 and m3884.

k 13
dy in this unit today we started going down for about 20 cm in all the surface which is possible digging (f103, q320 and q335). After we numbered and removed all the collapsed stones in the square. Unfortunately we did not take the picture of the stones before the removal. We decided to remove the columns of soil according a stratigraphic methodology, not giving a new number of feature for the column. In fact we want to flag the pottery found below the stones to date the collapsing of the stones. For this reason just below the stones we dug f103, q329 and after f 103 (q332, q335) removing hard and very compact soil, with graysh colour.  At the meantime we are digging the eastern baulk with the small pick (Kamiran and Samir) to see better the consistence of the layer which was removed with big pick. The layer is really very compact and seems that the upper surface was used as walking surface. The eastern baulk of k13 is f116 (q321, q333, q334).

k 14
dy we are going down with the excavation of the first meter from the northern baulk (f111, q319) and removing the eastern baulk (f115, q338).

k 4
dy we started removing three meters from the northern baulk (f105, q322) but after we decided to reduce the excavating area at one meter (f105, q336) from the baulk. In the meantime we are going on removing the part outside the eastern baulk in k4/k5 (f110, q316) and removing the northern baulk of the unit (f114, q318 and q340). In the north-eastern corner, between the two baulks northern and eastern we noticed the same reddish kind of soil which was found in f101, k3: it's f119, q328.

dy we are going down in the southern half of the unit (f117, q314).

k 85
dy we are going down in the northern half of the unit (f118, q315). It's not possible to excavate the southern half since the surface is occupied by the machine of Sabbah.

k 100
dy we decided to excavate and clean the surface above the stones in the eastern "wing" of the monumental staircase. We collected two different pottery bags: one with material coming from 70 cm above the stones (f122, q339) and one with the pottery coming from the last 20 cm above the stones (f122, q341).
