The pit is placed in the southern half of the unit and abuts the S-section. The filling is constituted by stones and pebbles of small and medium size with a large amount of basalt fragments on the top. ar It is not possible to relay the bottom since we stopped with the excavation of the unit and we did not dig the pit. At the moment we are not sure that f55 could be the filling of a pit. It may be also part of a burial. f 56 ;df ly ds this layer is constituted by the eastern baulk of k13. sg we removed the baulk and after we dug again the squares defined by new markers. f 57 df ts ds this feature is the topsoil of k53. The consistency of the soil is quite hard with roots and some green. On the top it is possible to recognize the dark band of organic material. f 58 df ts ds this feature is the topsoil of k15. The consistency of the soil is quite hard with roots and some green. On the top it is possible to recognize the dark band of organic material. f 59 df ly ds this layer is characterized by the presence of ash in all the surface of the square, k43. The layer is very thin (about 5 cm) and we removed it scraping the surface. f59 is covered by f53 and covers f60. f 60 df ly ds this layer is below the ashy layer f59. The consistency is quite different (the soil is more compact) and the colour is brownish. pr We did not reach the bottom of the feature since we stopped to dig in this unit. f 61 df ly ds this layer is below f49 and below lens f46 in k33. ar The consistency of the soil is quite the same of f49 but since in the northern part of the unit we found some stones of large-medium size we decided to distinguish two features. This last elevation is not the bottom of the feature but the elevation where we stopped with the excavation. f 62 df ly ds this layer is below the topsoil (f50) in k83. In f62 sit a eroded stones collapsed from the north (f93). f62 is similar to f107 (pedestal below the floating stone) ar The soil is not different but we chose in arbitrary way to distinguish the two features.). f62 is similar to f107 (pedestal below the floating stone) but we choose to make a different feature for the soil which stood under the stones. .rd O714 f 63 df ly ds we consider this layer the southern baulk of k12 also if practically it represents the topsoil of the unit. f63 covers f132 (secondary Apron), f133 and f134 which are the two gaps between the secondary Apron and the oval wall and between the primary and secondary aprons. sg We started to dig this unit removing the soil above the steps of the so called "second apron" considering the top soil as a baulk. The bottom elevation is different and depends from the features which are below f63. f 64 df ts ds this feature is the topsoil of k2. Some floating stones, probably collapsed from the north (f84), sit in it. This layer is rather thick and covers a quite big elevation. The colour is brownish and it's medium compact. sg We decided to excavate as it was the southern baulk of k2. f 65 df ly ds this layer is below the top soil (f58) in k15. The soil is different, more compact and with the presence of few stones of small size concentrated, above all, in the northern part of the unit. pr We did not reach the bottom elevation of the feature since we decided to stop with the excavations in this area and to use the square to collect the dirt and place the elevator. f 66 df ly ds this layer is below the topsoil (f66) in k53. pr We did not reach the bottom elevation of the feature since we decided to stop with the excavations in this area. The soil is not different but we chose in arbitrary way to distinguish the two features. .rd O718 f 67 df ts ds This feature is the topsoil of k84. The soil is compact and hard; the color brownish. We notice the presence of roots and small pebbles. Dark band of organic material on the top. The feature covers f117. A tannur (f72) with its filling (f73) sits in it. f 68 df ts ds this feature is the topsoil of k85. The material is the same that we found in k84: compact and hard and with brownish color. Presence of small pebbles and roots. Dark band of organic material. .rd O719 f 69 df ly ds this feature is the eastern baulk of k2. It is composed by a reddish material, quite granular and rather soft. A tannur (f85) with its filling sits in it. f 70 ;df ly ds this feature is the eastern baulk of k12. f 71 ;df ly ds this feature is the northern baulk of k15. .rd O801 .ri ap -ns with the aim of having a general perspective of the ceramic material present in JO2 I think that could be interesting to analyze also some of the pottery found removing the western side of the German trench (for us it's the eastern baulk of k4 and k5). The goal is checking if this material is Mittanic or it could be Khabur. The q-lots I choose come from the last 20 cm of the feature: f110: q356, q344, q316.
