Then we begin to remove the west section f85. Today we found in k64 under f80, a line of large stones f84. We continued to remove f71 and f82 in k75. After breakfast cJC, hB, dH and eA stayed at home to do data entry and templates. After breakfast we cleaned all J6 and J4 k 85 dy today we removed the North baulk: i decided toexcavate it in different features, following the stratigraphy we encontered in k85: the first 40 cm are accumulations f81, then there is the brickmelt and brickfall f83. We tried to find f37, the dump with a lot of pebbles and sherds, but we did not find it, therefore i decided to excavate it as brickfall, being all the feature brickmelt and brickfall, same as f75 and f53 f52. k 75 dy today we excavated only f71 which covered f82: f71 was the brickmelt, very hard and consisting of an uniform surface of melted bricks; f82, instead is softer, with patches of soil and harder where there are bricks. Being full of brick, partly also complete, this is the beginning of the brickfall, same as f75 in k85 k 64 dy today i decided to continue excavating here, in order to clear what is east of f64 in k74: we excavated a very hard surface f80, and under it was a line of rough stones, located in a line. This is very similar to J4f84 in k63. Next week we will clear better the relationship with the f64 brickmelt. f 81 ds it is the upper 40 cm of the North baulk of k85: it is only natural accumulation, very soft and fine f 83 ds This feature was assigned to the brickmelt and then brickfall in the North baulk of k85: it is the same as f75 and f52, f53 f 82 ds Located under f71 in k75, in the Western part of the square: it is a kind of dirty brickfall, similar to f75 in k85: the surface is characterized by patches of softer and harder soil (the hard are brickmelt). there are some stones (>15cm) and bricks. f 80 ds it is the accumulation under the topsoil f77 in k64 and it covers the whole square. It has a very hard surface and has a platy surface when picked, probably due to the long exposure to the water. ar This could be an outdoor area, if f84 is a boundary wall between east and west: this hypotesis will be prooved next year: for season 2008 we stopped excavating here. f 80 tc co f84 f 84 ds it consists in a row of large stones with North West-East-South direction
