excavation in k5 we have decided to expand the excavation in two directions, 1st we will open three new squares (k8, k9 and k10) E and S of k5. in this portion of the new expansion, we will try find out abut the nature and function of the uncovered net of walls (f41, f45 and f69) and try to determine their stratigraphic and constructional relationship to AK, by opening these new squares we expect to uncover the reminder of these walls and probably new feature in connection with them, that might help answering the following, 1) are these walls part of Ak building? if so, do they form an other major sector of the building other than the already uncovered sector?. 2) if these walls are not part of the same complex AK, then what is the stratigraphic relation between the two? pre, post or contemporary with AK? the 2nd expansion of excavations will take place W k5 where we will dig the entire area S f12 up to the level of the paving f69 (A10 f230) in k11 (A10 k18), this operation well There are no particular signs of any type of construction related to the grave; it seems to have been simply dug into the ground and its base f95 was levelled. The grave was found in poor condition and the human bones were found mixed in f83 within the boundaries of f84. we only noticed that most of the skull bones were located at the NW end of the grave, next to i14 and i18: the sizes of the grave and of the bones suggest that it was a child burial. .rd J629 k 6 -sg we will dig the last portion of f76 S of the farthest W end of the wall f12. k 10 -sg we continue to dig f90. k 8 -sg we will keep excavating f91 at the W side and f92 at E side. f 98 ds similar accumulation as f76. Given a separate feature number only for the specific area in connection to the animal grave a10. f 97 ds lined floor W and SW k8 surrounding the general area W and N of tannur a9. Its slops down from W to E. There are small spots where the floor is not completely preserved. f 99 ds a single large stone located exactly in the SE corner of k10. f 100 ds top soil k9. k 9 ds located exactly at the path of the wadi running through from NE to SW corner of the locus, which is apparently eroded by the wadi. It is possible that material culture of III mill. is very close to the current surface. f 101 ds lined floor just below f97 without any separations. Apparently f97 is a secundary preparation of the same floor f101. Large traces of ash covering the floor surface. f 102 ds bricky material, rectangular in shape. Seems to be a sort of pavement similar to that of f67, which is in line with f99. There are two layers of the floor's relining below f105. f 103 -dy even though f103 is not highly compacted, there are only few sherds find in the accumulation despite the large excavated volume of the feature. f 107 ds stone pavement along side the wall f12, N of f96, and at the same level and boundaries as f96. f 96 -dy after the removal of accumulation f103, the surface of the bricks f96 is uncovered and it turned to be a brick paved floor.
