Back to top: Clay objects from Unit J5
Introduction
Numerous clay artifacts (135) were recovered in J5, representing 30% of the total items. Note that seal impressions and figurines are clay, but are counted and described separately. Generally the items are of poor quality and almost all were put into storage without being photographed or drawn.
There were a wide variety of clay artifacts excavated. They included part of a chariot, a loom weight, a large cache of slingballs, and clay lumps. Seal impressions and figurines are analyzed in their respective sections.
