-wk 28 reported for work. Six (2 skilled picks, 4 removal) assigned to A12 under the supervision of dc.  A14/A12 sharing other resources such as relay assistant as needs dictate.  Continued to supply occasional assistance to SabaH Kassem for work on A17/A18 spoils train.

-sf dc now full time on A12.  jo did not return to the field after breakfast.

-sn gm drew the N section of k25.

-sy bp installed control points on the baulks of k23 and k24 and the full NW grid corner of k5.

-dy concentrated work on loci k14, k23, and k24.  Spent the entire day removing a sucession of tamped earth floors from the N half of k23.  Found several installations and restorable vessels resting on a floor. In k23 we continued to excavate through gully wash, now presumed to be ancient since no plastic has been found.  In k24 we concentrated on exavating a 1.5m strip of ashy accumulation on the N side of the locus, eventually encoutering a layer of soft, accumulation which, at the end of the day, approximately matched the extant elevation in k25 to the south.

ds Living accumulation surrounding three clay vessels resting on a floor, f239, in the north half of k14.  However, due to its thickness (about 5 cm) and its relative softness it may have resulted from temporary abandonment or filling, since there was a hard surface, f216, covering it, which we surmised was also a floor.

ds Highly compacted earthen floor surface upon which rested three jars, i137 to i139, in the NE quadrant of A14.  Its elevation, 8188, is within 10 cm of other nearby similar floors in k5 and k4, suggesting that this area was once a large, outdoor living/working space, used and repeatedly resurfaced for an extended period of time.
