-wk 28 workmen reported.  jw and gb discussed the need for more workmen to remove the baulks in the western part of the unit.  With several absences, we are not able to devote a crew full-time to baulk removal.

-sf dc joined the unit full-time.  jw and dc spent the entire day at the site.  gm worked at home processing objects after breakfast.

-sy  bp installed new markers for k21 and k12.

-sn jw began to draw the section of the east baulk of k5.  String elevation is 8162.

dy Continued to excavate slowly the living accumulation above what we believe will be the southern extension of the pise floor, f213.  A number of large jars are resting on the floor and we anticipate they will be removed tomorrow.

dy Continued to excavate a layer of brownish accumulation containing one pit, a19, which is being dug separately.  One clear seal impression was found within the accumulation.

dy Finished excavating the topsoil and began to excavate the more ancient gully wash.  Found several large stones along the north and south baulks.

dy continued to excavate the east baulk, stopping at the reddish accumulation seen prominently in the SW corner of k5.  Excavated separately the fill, f203 from a deep pit on the north edge.
