dy Opened this locus for excavation.  It had been partially excavated in previous seasons.  We made several pickruns in accumulation, f43, and removed several outcroppings along the N baulk.

dy Continued removing the E baulk, down to the level of the stone pavement, f253.
sg Barring unexpected developments, we will stop excavating here for this season and seek to view in the line of loci that includes k15, k14, k13, and k12, a succession of stone and sherd surfaces that are built one atop the other, portions of which as we move to the east have increasingly survived the erosive effects of the ancient and modern gullys.

dy Continued to excavate the gully wash below topsoil.  Removed the length of hand-finished clay pipe, i188, to the house.  The soil began to become more red in the last pick run and we will consider changing features when excavations resume on O725.

dy Removed the eleven vessels that constitute aggregate a20.  Before doing this we numbered the fragments that had inside surfaces showing, relayed each vessel, photographed each vessel, recorded axial definitions for each vessel (see file O723jw.j), and formed separate q-lots by groups of vessels for fragments that could not be positively associated with one of the designated ones.
sg on O722 we will excavate the final few centimeters of living accumulation above the pise floor, f213, being alert for residual fragments from vessels excavated today.
