When we have finished excavating this feature, we will have full exposure of the gully bed (except for the baulk between k3/k4 and k13/14). k 12 sg To excavate f69, the hard compacted mud found in k12 north baulk. f 69 dy We began with trying to find a face of the compacted mud, such as is seen in f67. There were pockets of looser mud brick material, and no discernable face. We then sectioned the feature, and after finding that it was still undifferentiated mud material we removed it. Below this feature we found the southern half of the cement basin, f27. k 11 sg To excavate in f75, the accumulation feature that is below the brickfall f23. There are two reasons for digging in this feature today; a) we have not yet found a floor surface that f11 and f27 are associated with and b)finding f71 and f85 has given us reason to believe that there might be a floor surface at least 10-20 cm below the current level of excavation. k 100 sg To excavate the remainder of f64, the accumulation above the floor f87. .rd L713 .ri sb -sg Today we are putting relay tags on the ground to relay all the structures. We already have the plot of the k, although 3 points are wrong. k 12 dy To the south of the wall, Hussein dug f44, also bf, and after a few cm he found a floor. The new floor is f90 - it's very damaged, but interesting because underneath we see clearly the pebbles that form the subfloor. Same as we see in k13. f 92 dy We are digging in k12, where a doorway came out on the w f43. The doorway was filled w/ bf, therefore it was dug as f55. The doorway, towards the south, on wall f43, is lined with large stones. f 91 nl the accumulation within doorway f92 has been changed from f55 to f91.
