This may shed some light on what is going on with brick. To the sw of the pit are two bricks laid vertically. It is not clear whether they were laid that way or fell. There are also bricks in the e section of the pit. These seem to align with the bricks seen in s section. Also going down in a f390 to the east of the pit. This also seems to have a line of bricks running ew. Relationship among all these lines of bricks is very unclear at the moment. k 13 dy continue removing f373. jw noticed that first sherds in the lot appear to be larger than usual. Also had i which is part of a andiron. k 14 dy finished removing f 372 and f392. Still trying to find connections between f384 pebble/stone fl, and sherds to n. Bitumen painted sherd in f384 indicates a probably ph4, and Khabur sherds under f392 are younger. This may be coincidental. The sherd layer continues under f 392 which is the soil between f373 and pebbles of f384. We have named the sherd layer f 399.There is a cut line corresponding to the clay bin of MZ14, f155. Also just to the n of f376, large stones, there seems to be a difference in compaction and color of f373. We have called this f395. jw says it may indicate the beginnings of a kiln.
