.bk A15 .fl N719ms.j .fd daily journal N719 .ed N719 .ei ms .rd N719 .ri ms --i this week we will continue trying to understand the relationships among all the structures, as well as continue to go down in k13 and k14 to find the end of the kiln deposit f373. We got two more workmen, Nasm and Masood, who can be used as pickmen if necessary. Started Harris matrix for k13 and k14. k 5 dy there is brick everywhere and we are unclear of the connection with f399. Bricks in section in pt f394 are very different from the wall. They are thin and alternating gray and brown in layers. These are f403. There may also be bricks in the bottom of the pit. We removed a layer of bricks from wall f387 just to get a view of what is going on. The brick continues under. After conferring with gb we began to remove f404 to n of f387 to get a sense where the bricks might end. This accumulation might be equated with f340 in MZ14. k 13 dy continued going down in kiln accumulation f373. Now have reached the top of the upper of the two kilns from MZ14. The material remains fairly consitent although at times it seems there may be more gray and red material which is somewhat indicative of a kiln. We have not found any further evidence of this, however. We will continue to clean and scrape after pick runs to insure we don't miss any changes. k 14 dy cut between f384 stone/sherd floor and f399 sherd layer is fairly clear. Took pictures in the am. k 15 dy cut back and scraped sections in baulks and along a f380 to get an idea of the relationship among all the walls of the aggregate, a33. Assigned addtional feature numbers to walls. jw noticed a course of half bricks as part of f379. He says this in indicative of two walls next to each other rather than a single wall. The half course and other two courses are to the w of f379 and are f405. The same seems to be true for f375. We have assigned f406 to the western course of bricks. f407 is the accumulation between the baulk area s to the section beneath a f380. Started going down in this area.
