.bk A15 .fl N721ms.j .fd daily journal N721 .ed N721 .ei ms .rd N721 .ri ms -dy No specific new strategy. Continue going down in all loci as yesterday. We have 3 less workmen, Faris, Suleiman and Muhammad H all went to Qatna with the Germans. There may also be a problem with the relays of some to the q-lots because there was a lot of activity and lf and ii got a little behind and confused. Will continue looking a MZ14 books to find correlation of features still extant. k 5 dy began going down in f411 which is an accumulation, possibly same gray compacted material seen in baulk and covering lots of area in MZ14. After removal though, it seems to be a different material as it is brown rather than gray. Rashid uncovered the bottom of a large jar in situ. It seems to be complete and it is i237. f411 runs ns along e baulk and is bounded by possible wall, f413. This wall may go all the way up to s section under wall f387 but that is not clear. N portion of f413 runs s and is a continuation of a wall uncovered in MZ14. It goes up to the large sherd pavement, f208. Currently unclear of the connection but we will examine the old files to see what has already been written about this. If there is a connection than f411 is possible ph 3. We seemed to have missed the floor of pit f394 and continued down. f397 is now a uniform level w of f413. We have bricks running we and cut by the pit. The vertical brick at the top of f394 seems to have a footing. Per jo there may be a threshhold or doorway. In section thre is a cut with similar accumulation on either side. Tomorrow we will photograph, draw and consult with gb on next steps. k 15 dy removed more of n baulk leaving a section for the point. We will remove this when we get more points. Stone/pebble lens, f409, continues into this baulk but barely extends half way. Seems to go into pedestal for a little bit as well. Gray area f412 is also in this baulk and in w baulk as well. It seems to be a pit, but we did not define the top. Ramadan is digging it out. There is a large stone which is sitting in the middle of the gray material but does not seem to have any connection with anything else at the moment. k 14 dy finished removing f384 stone/sherd floor. Ahmad followed floor or sherds too deeply and dug a small hole inadvertantly. Named f414 to be the accumulation under this floor and to differentiate the sherd lots. Removed rest of f414 up to the edge of a f372. Also removed sherds from rest of f399 sherd floor. Continued cleaning hb f408. There are move bones to nw, possibley from same skeleton but may be another. These bones are also in a jumble. k 13 dy contined going down in f373, kiln accumulation. jo noticed in section a possible pit, f416 which continues into current deposition. It is similar to f373 fubt there are less inclusions and those are not as large. Exact depostion sequence is unclear. fab suggested it may be another clay bin like f155, but this is not sure. We will remove f373 coming from the w to see the face of this feature, if possible. This f also starts below bricks f377. Also have small pebble/sherd lens f415 at nw corner of k. This seems to e the edge of a pit whcih is seen in section of n baulk and cut by kilns and e edge of k3.
