.bk A15 .fl N727ms.j .fd daily journal N727 .ed N727 .ei ms .rd N727 .ri ms -dy two new dirt removers. Continue large scale dirt removal. Had conversation with mkb about connections between stone platforms, sherd floors, pebble streets of MZ14 and current a34 and w f413. She suggested jo do a sketch of this. k 5 dy no excavation in a34. We believe we have found the floor with the horizontal brick and matting, i250. Removed f403 bricks in pit f394. . There also seems to be some fill, f391, left along s portion of pit so we are removing that to hopefully increase understanding of what is giong on and relationships among the walls in this area. Also removed tannur, f432, which equals f364 in MZ14. We want to clean up to the section of the baulk and come down. Under the tannur is accumulation f432. This was also removed down to the level of f423. New accumulation is f435 and just to the west of f423. We started removing this accumulation to see the other side of f423. jo sees bricks in f423 and jw suggests it may be pise wall. Again, it is difficult to see exactly what is going on. Removed stones, f431, that were sitting east of tannur. Finished removing the last small patch of f397 which is the accumulation we had throughout this k earlier. This was the last portion remaining. Will examine f423 again tomorrow to see if today's excavation has given us any additional information. k 15 dy Still going down in the trench, f423, but not as quickly as had hoped because Steff and Yestafat have found several items including i251, piece of cart, i254, si. mkb says at first glance the si is dated to the post-imperial Akkadian era. These all come from the same area inside the trench. We may want to open the trench horizontally in this area to get a fuller picture of what's going on. There also seem to be differentiations in the levels but not enough to create a new feature. k 14 dy kept going down in f430. This is still kiln accumulation but there appeared some pockets of brown clay like material in s portion. It was thought the clay bin, f155, of MZ14 extended into this area. This is the only possible evidence we have of this so far. Decided to remove what was thought to be the bin lining running ew on s side of f155, bin and have uncovered red, bricky clay. This is f433. We will remove another few cm of this material and scrape and clean it well to see if it is brick or clay or fill. There seems to be a footing at the bottom of the level. Again, it may be part of the bin or something else and we will look more closely tomorrow. k 13 dy continue to go down in f420, kiln accumulation. Finding red surface f417 throughout the area, especially near the kilns. Uneven distribution and no clear boundaries. Will continue. We did find one small pit, f437. The fill is f436. f 431 df pb ds line of three stones running E-W in k5. Excavated in MZ14. East of tannur, f432 but not clear if related. tc re f397 P1 N727 f 432 df ta ds excavated in MZ14 as f364.
