.bk A15 .fl N811ms.j .fd View Descriptions .ed N811 .ei ms .rd N811 .ri ms v 188 ds this view is looking ne. Primarily shows the pit, f394 with bricks in section of f387. Bricks seen in section below f387 may not be real. Vertical brick to the w of the pit may indicate a threshhold because f386 the gully wash goes down to a lower elevation at this point. Did not find anything after further excavation. v 188a ds closeup of inside of pit, f394. v 189 ds oh view from east showing cut between two sherd floors. Cut is in line with cut of clay bin, f155. f384 to s contains a bitumen painted sherd which led us to believe this was phase 4. Further analysis of sherds indicates it is still ph 5. f399 to n has visible Khabur sherds. These are both ph5 surfaces. v 189a ds oh view with pointers showing bitumen painted sherd in f384, and Khabur sherd in f399. v 189b ds closeup of bitumen painted sherd in f384. v 189c ds closeup of Khabur painted sherds in f399. v 189d ds f384 and f399 from west. v 190 ds k14 bones of small animal during removal of accumulation f397 north of pt f394. v 191 ds view facing north, surface of river washed stones, f409 found in k15 north baulk removal. Does not extend further into the baulk. v 191a ds same as v191 but facing south. v 191b ds closeup of f409. v 192 ds view of southern side of k5. Primarily meant to show the cut of f386 gully wash just to the w of the pt f394. This was thought to be a threshhold between two bricky masses, f398 and f390. f387 is also a small wall cut by the pit, f394. If it were a doorway, it would make sense for the gully wash to have gotten much deeper here. v 192a ds closeup of vertical brick just west of f398. jo suggested this was the threshhold. v 193 ds closup of i237 in first stages of excavation in f411, k5. v 194 ds closeup of kiln, a30, looking east. This shows the interior of the kiln. f419 is hard, burnt material, very similar to volcanic rock. f429 is the layer underneah f419. This seems to be brick lining for the kiln rather than a section. It is very red most likely because of the the heat. f417 is a layer of red material outside the kiln. Considered part of kiln waste, but powdery and with few inclusions. More like burnt dirt than detritus. v 194a ds similar to v194 but an overhead shot looking into the kiln. v 197 ds overhead shot looking to the south of k13 and k14. Of primary interest is all the cutting of the kiln waste, here seen as f420 and f383 in section. f442 is the first accumulation under the kiln waste and may be phase 4. f471 is a red bricky mass that may be brickmelt. a30 and a31 are the kiln aggregates that are cut very far down. This view shows how erratic the kiln waste lines are. v 197a ds taken from the se shows a closeup of the cuts for f420 and f442. v 198 ds taken from north showing k15 and k5. Primary focus of the view is a34, the jar installation. It is presumed that only half of the room is visible and the eastern portion runs into the baulk. This is the first of what will be daily shots documenting how we remove the material in k15 to the east and come down onto the jar installation. We will see how all the features then work together. v 198a ds same as v198 but without reference markers and with light reflecting on the jars. v 198b ds same as v198a but with water sprayed on jars. v 203 ds ov shot showing the outlines of bricks. This is f457 and may be related to wall f483. It could be the south wall of a room, or a brick floor. v 207 ds western portion of k15 looking west. f478 is a bricky installation and f479 the orange material at the bottom of what seems to be the cut. f460 is part of a later pit that was in the baulk. It was not totally removed because it is over the jar installation a34. f451 is the red/orange burnt area. These layers are important because we are coming down on the jar installation. v 207a ds same as v207 but looking east and without covering of the the installation, a34. Cuts are more visible from this angle. v 209a ds ov shot of f454. Includes more of k15 such as a larger extent of f451 and the pit, f481. v 211 ds this is an overhead view of k13 and k14 showing the initial stages of f483 a red brick wall which is appearing. f486 is the accumulation to the south and f487 is the accumulation to the north. f457 are similar bricks appearing to the south and may form a room boundary. f486 is being dug as though it were interior accumulation. v 213 ds overhead shot towards the west showing vertical wall f489. Most likely this wall is a wall fall and phase 2. This is all that appears of this wall so it seems just a chunk has fallen. f495 is the remains of a later pit. f472 is the first level of area accumulation declared this season. This was first dug in MZ14. f489 may have plastered or painted surface on area that hit the ground and not visible here. v 214 ds shot taken from camera on wire over primarily k15 with portions of k5 and k14. Main focus is k15 red ashy layer, f451. Bead cache, i260, was found on this level. Also shows adjacent jar installation, a34. We are still above the jars in this area.
