.bk B7 .fl U912pC .fd loci .rd U913 .ri pC -dy First day of excavation in B7. We started digging with 2 workmen (1 pickmen and a showel). We dig only in k100. Removed first 40 cm of toposoil f3 and brick crumble f4 k 100 ds A locus defined by m6336, m6332, m6333, m6337. 3 m to the north and 2 m to the east from m6333. k100 is a small locus to see if wall f1 continues to the east dy Today we started digging in k100. Topsoil f3 covers collapse f4, which covers a surface f5. No particular finds today in terms of architecture or objects. We stop excavating here because we did not found the eastern continuation of f1 k 101 .rd U914 ds A locus defined by m6346, m6345, m6344, m6347. It extends 3 meters to the north and 2 m to the east from m6346. k101 was opened to see the continuation of wall f2 dy Today we started excavating in k101. we removed topsoil f7 anf f8 -dy Today we cleaned the Trench k200 which was excavated in 2000. Since it was exposed for 10 years and was never backfilled we found a lot of earth collapsed into the trench, which we named f6. we started excavating in k101 k 200 ds k200 is all the long trench in area B7, starting south of the temple BA and continuing for 36 m to the south crossing all the monumental staircase in J2 (we gave the same k number in J6). It is 2 meters m wide, altrough in some points is a bit wider because the walls of the trench collapsed. In the trench there are several stone walls (f1, f2), reason of the reopening of the excavation in B7 dy Today we started cleaning the trench: f6 is the soil accumulated here in the last 10 years. .rd U915 -dy Today we continued excavating in k101, exposing floor f9. We continued also removing topsoil f6 in k200 in the southern portion of k200, east of k101, exposing mudbricks f10. There are still a lot of plastic bags in f6. Today during the meeting with fAB, gB and mKB, we were thinking of what could be wall f2 and fAB had the idea that it could be a path leading to the temple BA. pC thinks that it could be a terracing wall. k 200 dy Cleaning of the southern portion of k200, east of k101. We exposed f10 and wall f2. .rd U916 -dy During the meeting with fAB, gB and mKB we decided to continue digging in B7 for another day. We want to expose all f10 in k101 and see if staircase f19 continues down -sg f19 seems to be a staircase while the first 2 steps are shown. Also seems that f1 is the northern continuation of the staircase. We decided to make a small sounding to the west of f19 and go down untill we reach at least another step, to be sure that f19 and f1 is not a wall but a staircase k 101 dy We started digging in the southern portion of k101, leaving f11. We removed all f13 and we found a pit f14. After removing the pit fill we reached everywhere mudbrick glacis f15 k 200 dy We strted removing f 16, covering the third step of f19. We reached the bottom of the staircase f19: we put a shish in front of the 4th step and we did not found another stone, therefore we decided to stop digging here, also because the space was not enough to dig and the time left was over for this season.
