Introduction

The statigraphic sequence of unit J4 has been tied since its inception with the overall, combined sequence for Palace AP, Temple BA and the Plaza JP.

Accordingly, the numeric sequence of J4 strata and phases contains several gaps, since we have the earliest phases (1 and 2) for the construction of the revetmnet wall of the Temple Terrace, and then we pass directly to the Mittani horizon phases (6a and 6b). This corresponds to the gap between strata 15 and 90. Such a break appears at first to be strange, given the fact that less than 100 meters to the west and to the south we have a complete sequence that fully bridges the gap. Clear reasons can, however, be proposed for this gap, and they are illustrated in greater detail elsewhere.
