This photo shows k71, k72, k73 and k74 after the removal of the N baulks and before we start digging in these squares again. This view is intended to show primarily the three loci at the same elevation. The view therefore shows also f10 and f50 in k71, f63 in k72 (with three floating stones, i.e. f12, f19.1, f19.2 and f19.3). f61 in k73, f64 in k74. Looking N. v 39 ds This photo is a general view of k73: the purpose is to show f61, the compact accumulation in the whole locus. This photo is a general view of k73: the purpose is to show f61, the compact accumulation in the whole locus. It shows as well the bottom of the German trench T10 that interests the west baulk of the locus. Looking N. v 40 ds This photo is a general view of k72. The purpose is to show the floating stones (f19.1, f19.2, f12 and f20) and their pedestal (f100, f128, f102 and f98) in k72 and f63, the top accumulation in k72. These limestones could be originally part of f10. Looking N. ;being f100 and f128 the pedestal of f19.1, f19.2 v 40a ds Similar view as v40. This photo is a general view of k72. The purpose is to show the floating stones (f19.1, f19.2, f12 and f20) and their pedestal (f100, f128, f102 and f98) in k72 and f63, the top accumulation in k72. These limestones could be originally part of f10. Looking N. ; OLD DS This photo is a general view of k72. The purpose is to show the floating stones (f19.1, f19.2, f12 and f20) and their pedestal (f100 and f128 for f19 and f102, being f100 and f128 the pedestal of f19.1, f19.2) in k72. These stones have been left in place for a long time (they are located a high elevation, and thus have been exposed almost at the beginning of the excavation in k72) waiting to see if there was any direct link with the Apron in k71 (f10). After excavating the surrounding area (k61, k62 and k73) we can see these are random stones, probably originally part of the Apron and but not having any clear relation with the Apron and among them at all. Looking N. v 41 ds This photo shows the collapsed floating stone f73 in the SE corner of k82 before its removal. This stone was originally located on top of f74, as cleary visible in a view tooked by mH during the 2005 excavation season (cfr. J2v62, V17do214 taken the O803). The stone. therefore, collapsed from its pedestal in the previous two years (the stone is located aprox. 100cm est from its pedestal). f73 as well as f74 rest on f52, a natural accumulation over uncovered excavation from MZ17 in k82. This floating stone, as well as other in k82, was left in place in the previous excavation season in order to look for any direct link among these limestones and the Apron or the monumental staircase J02f130 exposed in J02 area. This, apparently, is a random stone, probably originally part of the Apron, but not having anymore any clear relation with it. Looking N. v 41a ds This photo is a close-up of the floating stone f73 and its pedestal f74 in the SE corner of the k82. Looking N. v 42 ds This photo is a close-up a dog skull found while digging in k84; the skull was found close to the E section of k84; it shows also the accumulation in k84, f72. Looking S. v 43 ds This is a general view of k84 (i.e. the N portion of k84) while digging f76. f76 is a compact accumulation, rich in phytolits and organic materials, which gave to the soil a very fine and loose texture and a dark brown colour.
