.bk J05 .fl S721lH.j .fd Daily journal for S721 .ei lH .rd S721 .ri lH -wk Fourteen assigned workmen reported. We received a tent for k54 allowing work to go faster. k 23 dy We started our work in this locus with taking photo for it, v22, includes the natural accumulation above the floor, f34, with the stones traces in the SW quadrant of k23, f37, and the big stone in the SE quadrant, f38, that sits in the natural accumulation, f33; this view shows also the northern half of this locus including the natural accumulation, f30, and the stone line in the east, f19, and the flat stones to the west, f20. After taking the photo we removed the rest of f34, -using the small pick- to find a floor underneath, f39, which is full of limestone nodules. It`s mixed with big amount of pottery sherds, pebbles and weak reddish soil. We noticed that this new floor dosen`t continue toward the stones of f37, because there is a soft powdery accumulation which is a fill, f43. We photogrphed those new evidence with v23. After some conversations about this new features, we decided not to remove f39. We`ll remove it after removing the southern baulk of k23. This will help us understand the relationship of this feature and the eastern section of J01. We will show this by photographing the section of the eastern baulk of J1 and the south baulk of k23 in J5 together. Then we removed the natural accumulation, f33, -using the small pick- in the southeastern quadrant of k23. We found a new feature containing large stones, f46. It was lower than the stone, f38, which covered floor accumulation, f34. It`s on the same north-south line as revetment wall, f3 in k22. k 34 dy bWP put new markers in the northern half of this locus. We continued removing the natural accumulation, f29, to find a new feature under it, f42. It looks very compact, and similar to the floor accumulation , f34, above the floor, f39, in k23. We photographed the new feature, v24, so we could remove it -using the big pick. After removing the last mentioned feature, we found a new feature, f45. It`s a kind of highly compacted floor, type b, full of nodules and pottery sherds among reddish soil. It reminds us of the floor of k23, f39. So we took a new photo for it, v25. k 54 dy We removed the rest of the natural accumulation, f35, in the northern half of the locus - using the big pick. Using the small pick, we started to remove the crust, f36. Then we found in the southwestern quadrant a new compact feature, f44. It is a natural accumulation that is free of pottery sherds and pebbles. In the northeastern quadrant, there is a line of stones, f40, 140 cm long that goes toward the west. The line has more than eight stones (15-30 cm length). f 39 ds Highly compact floor underneath, f34. It`s full of limestone nodules which mixed with a large amount of pottery sherds, pebbles and reddish gray soil. We noticed that this new floor dosen`t continue toward the stones of f37, because there is a soft powdery accumulation (seems like a fill), f43 between the stones and the fill. The floor, f39, seemed similar to baqaya feature in J03, but the fact that it was lighter in color and full of sherds, stones and nodules, made gB assume that it was the last version of the Plaza. f 38 ds one big stone in the southeastern quadrant of k23, sits in the natural accumulation, f33, and coveres the floor accumulation, f34. f 37 ds A group of large stones in the southwestern quadrent of k23. f 40 ds In the northeastern quadrant of k54, there is a line of stones, f40, 140 cm long that goes toward the west. The line has more than eight stones (15-30 cm length). f 41 ds A group of dressed, large limestone blocks in the northeast quadrant of k22. They abut the revetment wall, f3, to the west. f 42 ds Floor accumulation in the north half of k34. It is similar to the floor accumulation, f39, in k23. We removed it using the big pick. f 43 ds Soft powdery accumulation seems like a fill that separates the compact floor, f39, from the stones of f37. The extent of it is still unknown because it is still covered by the natural accumulation, f30, in the northern part of k23. f 44 ds Natural accumulation with hard crust in k54. f 45 ds Hard compact floor surface in the north half of k34. f 46 ds A group of large stones in the southeast corner of k23. They are in line with the stones of f19 in this locus and the stones of the revetment wall, f3, in k22.
