The feature does not present peculiar characters and it's quite similar to f69 (=f78) which is the eastern baulk of k2 and it's composed by a reddish material, quite granular and rather soft. pr Since we have no control points to take elevation and the goal was to go down as soon as possible we were not able to take the top elevation. f 93 df st ds This feature is composed by a quite large number of eroded stones of big size in k83. These stones were removed by the crane and so they were numbered (29 sub-components), relayed and photographed. f93 sits in f62 and rest on f107 (coluns of soil below the stones). It's not clear from where the stones collapsed. They do not seem to belong to an eastern apron. f 94 ;df ly ds This feature is the eastern baulk of k93. It is covered by f88. When we removed f88 we went down changing the number of the feature also if it was referred to the same baulk. pr Since we have no control points to take elevation and the goal was to go down as soon as possible we were not able to take the top elevation. f 95 ;df ly ds This feature is located in the southern part of k13. It is composed by mixed material, medium compact and brownish in colour. This feature is covered by f87 and covers f125. f95 was contaminated by the German trench as attested by the presence of pieces of plastic sheet. f 96 ;df ly ds This feature is underneath the northern baulk (f77) of k84, south of the floating stones in k83. .ri mh .rd 0725 f 97 ;df ly ds This feature is located in the eastern part of k3, south to the stones placed in the northern half of the square. The soil is not very compact, the color is brownish/reddish and there is a large amount of sherds and pebbles of small-medium size. f97 is covered by f32, it abuts f98 and overlays f101. f 98 ;df ly ds This feature is located in the western part of k3, south to the stones in the northern half of the square. It has the same elevation of f97, abuts it but the characters are completely different: the soil is very hard with a large amount of very compact gravels and few sherds. f98 is covered by f32 and overlaids f101. .rd 0726 .ri ap f 99 ;df ly ds This feature is located in k3 and limited to its north-western corner, near the stones present in the northern half of the unit. It's composed of very soft material, with abundant presence of ash. f 100 ;df st ds This feature presents two sub-components (f100.1 and f100.2) and is referred to the stones collapsed on the staircase (f130) in k100. Theese two stones has been removed by the crane. They are visible in the photos taken by the Germans. f 101 ;df ly ds This feature is located in the southern part of k3 and it's overlaid by f97 and f98. The soil is reddish, quite compact and it contains a lot of sherds. It covers the melted bricks labeled as f106. pr Because some sherds seemed at first sight to date to Khabur period, we decided to analyze a q-lot of pottery coming from this feature. f 102 ;df ld ds This feature is a small portion of floor found in k4. It consists of compact soil and pebbles small-medium in size and few sherds. It's located in the northern part of the square and it was possible to see it in the northern section. f102 is covered by f81 and overlaids f105. f 103 ;df ly ds This feature is located in the southern part of k13, south of the stones which constitue f128 (f103 abuts f128). The soil is very compact and very hard, graysh in colour. It's covered by f95 which presents mixed materials and it was contaminated by the German trench. It seems very similar to the material found in J1 at the same elevation of the wall. f 104 ;df tr ds This feature number has been assigned to the German trench in k14. pr We choose in arbitrary way to assign f104 to the German trench in k14 because it became more clear during the excavation of the unit. f104 goes also through k13 since its direction is north-west/south-east. f 105 ;df ld ds this feature is a lens of very compact and hard soil which is present in all the surface of k4. It's covered by f81 and overlaid by f102. It seems quite similar to f103 in k13.
