A musical score from Ugarit records an ancient Hurrian text with notations that can be interpreted as a score. Included here are two preliminary new renderings of the Hurrian song from Ugarit, produced by V. J. Scordan. The first is a solo rendering, with a reading of the Hurrian text as preserved in the musical tablet from Ugarit. The second is a rendering of the same melody, but with a text in English which is not a translation of the original, but rather an imaginary text, composed by V. J. Scordan. |
