Current version

In the previous AAC strata sequence the construction and use of the pavement were both assigned to phase 2, while in the new AAH sequence they are subdivided into Phase 4jAAH and Phase 4kAAH. In June 2016, C. Chaves Yates revised all strata and phase information to match the updated AAH strata sequence. This page is current as of June 2016.

Overview

Phase 4k marks the time of the use of the Palace. During this time the paved courtyard was presumably kept clean and so there are no features or accumulations attributed to this phase.

Pavement

The stone pavement a12 was constructed in the previous phase, but continues in use during this phase.

An underground tank?

If not belonging to an earlier phase, the baked brick structure a24 is likely to have been set in place at the same time as the pavement, hence in Phase 4j, to serve as an underground tank or possibly as an underground chamber for other purposes.
