View showing condition of loci, k13 and k100 prior to the planned start of its excavation. There is a slight upslope from south to north to the top of a mound upon which was built a series of temples (BA). The vegetation is typical of the entire site - weeds with large, deep roots not eaten by grazing caprids. It was originally anticipated that these loci would be used for a deep sounding to explore the methodology used to construct the monumental wall which defines the outer extent of the mound, but we later decided to excavate closer to the wall. Therefore these loci were never excavated. [Input: P807GM.j] |
